I was raised and educated in Sioux City, Iowa. After I graduated from high school, I attended Creighton University, receiving my bachelor's in Chemistry in 2008. I worked for a couple years in industry and biomedical research before pursuing a master's degree in education. I taught chemistry and anatomy and physiology at Mount Michael Benedictine School for a year but left after deciding to finish my master's at UNO. I joined the staff at Northwest in 2014 as the honors and Advanced Placement chemistry teacher.
In my spare time, I love to go running and hiking with my dog, Latin dancing with my friends, and geeking out as much as possible. I have two sisters and a brother, who are all scattered around the United States. My older sister is a editor and writer, my younger sister is in the first year of residency, and my younger brother works in IT. Fun facts about me: I used to sing in a competitive choir when I was in middle school, I have a black belt in TaeKwonDo, and I have completed two marathons. |
